There was rain. And mud. And pony piss. But I’m proud to say Giant Bicycles’ temporary pump track at the Keystone Stables is ready to rock. A tale of logistics, precipitation and teamwork.
6 a.m. — Taking off to import and place dirt for the temporary pump track at Keystone. I have an awesome crew coming up to shape/pack/ride tomorrow. This is going to be sweet! As for you: Heavy feet, light hands!
We’re visiting the OB every two weeks. Mom is feeling better, and the babies are well within spec. The baby shower is this Sunday (after I build the Keystone pump track). I’ve already bought the equivalent of an S-Works Enduro at Babies R Us. Working hard, filling the checking account, gathering stuff, getting ready.
Hey all, We’re building a pump track at Keystone this weekend — it’s a temporary track for a bike maker’s dealer event — and we need help in the shovel/rake/tamper department. This is a paid gig.

Dude, this weekend was not meant to happen. We were rolling down Berthoud Pass into Winter Park this morning — all good — and a deer appeared out of nowhere. Too late to swerve the Sprinter. Pulverized deer, smashed headlight, leaking radiator. Pull over. Call for a tow. Back home before 1 p.m.
5:30 a.m. – Ian’s pinkie surgery went well yesterday. Heading back up to shoot Super D and DH. Braaap!
The weekend was shaping up nicely — sweet campsite, many friends, fun-looking courses — then, on our first run, Ian went OTB and broke his pinkie finger.
