hey
i wanted to know from u what bike is the best for college…i need it for commuting from house-college-house or somthing like small trips here and there…i wanna buy used …bikes in range of below 80 $…other things like suspension/brakes/chain/gear need be only as required BUT not exceptionally more features…! please please let me know what bikes are better for above criteria

Get the cheapest thing you can.

Bikes get stolen at college. I don’t care how well you lock it up; your bike is at risk. I’ve heard of traveling thieves who clean out entire bike racks all at once. I’ve even seen frames locked to racks with every part stolen — even headset cups.

$80 is a limiting price point. Spend $20 on a lock, and the rest on your steed.

If you have to cover miles, ride a cruiser with a coaster brake. If your ride is short and flat, rock an old BMXer. Somewhere, at a garage sale near you, is a sweet old chrome Diamondback …
