Learn to rip at Valmont Bike Park in July
UPDATE JULY 13: All spots for the July 27 and 30 clinics are taken. I’m working on scheduling more clinics. Braaap!
It’s time to get your pump and jump on!
I’m holding two public skills clinics at Valmont Bike Park, July 27 and 30. Classes are limited to six riders each. Cost is $100 and includes your choice of Mastering Mountain Bike Skills 2nd Edition or Pro BMX Skills.
We will cover the core skills, but we’ll focus on pumping … and, if you’re ready, jumping. Pumping is the key to truly ripping trail. Once you learn to work the terrain — ride the wave — mountain biking is way safer, smoother and radder.
Valmont is an amazing place to ride and learn. Come on out. Let’s rip it!
Note:
I have a permit with the City of Boulder to teach clinics at Valmont Bike Park. I pay 20% of my revenue to support the park. This program is fully permitted, insured and pro.
When:
Wednesday, July 27, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. SOLD OUT
Saturday, July 30, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. SOLD OUT
Where:
Valmont Bike Park, Boulder, CO
Info and directions: http://bouldermountainbike.org/valmontbikepark
Who:
Anyone who wants to ride safer, more confidently and faster — and who wants to experience this awesome pumping and jumping stuff.
You should be of driving age (I will make exceptions; email me). You should have decent basic bike control. Your bike should fit you and be in good working order. You will need to lower your seat. A dirt jump or slalom bike is ideal, but any good trail bike will work fine.
If I don’t think you’re safe, I reserve the right to cancel your participation and refund your payment.
What:
We will dial in your attack position and make sure you know how to slow down and make basic turns. After that, we’ll focus on pumping skills. And you know what comes right after pumping? That’s right: jumping!
I’ll cover whatever the class wants (and is ready for). I teach in a sequential manner. As soon as Step 1 is dialed, we hit Step 2. We do not skip steps. That’s why my students have fun and stay safe.
Expect to rip the pump tracks, slalom course, small dirt jumps and whatever else the class is ready for.
I use my teaching method with riders of all styles and levels, from kids to retirees, from XC riders to downhillers, from beginners to pros. This stuff works — and it’s fun!
