Connecting the dots


In a former life I was a newspaper infographics artist. When a plane crashed, I drew the inside of the engine and highlighted the whatchamacallit that failed. On hindsight, it was a cool job, but at the time I was too anguished that I wasn’t a full time bike rider/writer. When I won a Pulitzer in 1998 I didn’t give a damn.
