Burning in a pump track, the fun way
Superior Bike Park is just about dialed. Time to chase details and burn a couple hundred laps on the main pump track.

Another great volunteer turnout. All features are riding well. The park is 99% final (a week ahead of schedule!).
Props and photos:
Awesome group work day today. We’re doing it again tomorrow. Bring your bike!
The pump track got shaped and packed today. After a bit of watering and packing tomorrow, it should be ready to ride.
Lots more progress today. Looks like we’ll be flow-testing soon.
Today was our first real day putting shovels to dirt. The day was cold but fruitful.
By the end of today, dirt for the expert lines was placed. On Monday we’ll place the beginner features and start shaping.
Superior, CO should have a fully rocking bike park by March 20.
Today Farid and I marked terrain at the Superior Bike Park. Tomorrow the loader places dirt. On Monday the all-star crew — including Jerad Fischer and Nick Simcik — starts strategic shaping.
Big volunteer dig days March 12-13 and 19-20. The park should be done and fully rideable by March 20.
Stay tuned. Braaap!

After 2+ years of wrangling, we have a design and a plan for the bike park in Superior, CO. We start digging in March.
I’m still wrangling details, but this much looks certain:
– I’ll be building the track for the 2011 Sea Otter pro pump track comp. Riding legend Jeff Lenosky and I are working on the design.
– The comp will combine elements of speed and style. It will be a head-to-head race with a time bonus for whomever throws the best style off the trick jump.
– I will be teaching clinics on the track! This is extra rad. Refine your pump fu on a world-class track. I’ll post times when I get the schedule.
– As soon as the contract is final, I will assemble the team. If you’re an experienced digger who wants to get paid to build (and ride) a revolutionary track, email me. I’m looking for people who know how to take direction and run with it.
This is going to be sweet.
